For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.”

The message is to live right as the Lord will not accept our offerings if we are living unrighteous and unholy lives. Our offerings could be giving financial offerings, offering our services in the Kingdom of God by doing i.e. the ushering, by helping others. But all of this is in vain if we are not living righteous and holy lives on a daily basis, not just when you attend church on a Sunday morning!

Genesis 14: 1 – 16 KJV

The War of the Kings

“And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations; That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar. All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea. Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled. And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim, And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto Elparan, which is by the wilderness. And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezontamar. And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim; With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.

And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain. And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way. And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram. And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people. “

The message is the Lord blesses his people but due to sin or compromise, we lose our blessings. Think about what happened to Daniel in the Bible. He was praying and fasting and the Bible says in Daniel that the King of Persia, which is the devil, was stopping the angel of the Lord to give a message to Daniel, so God sent another angel to fight the King of Persia and allow the first angel to come and give the message to Prophet Daniel. Daniel was not in sin according to the Bible, but yet it happened to him, how much more to us when we live in sin. The blessings the Lord has in the spiritual realm, don’t come down upon God’s people because Satan is accusing us to the Lord and is holding our blessings in this realm. As the Bible says, the devil is the accuser of the brethren. So when you are living right, following the word of God and living for Jesus, the devil’s power and hold over your life is broken and he cannot hold those blessings, those miracles that you have been praying for in Jesus name, he has to let them loose over your life and this can be achieved by doing spiritual warfare!

Jeremiah 14:17-18 KJV

“Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow. If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.”

God is saddened by what is happening to the church in the world today. The enemy is destroying the people in the church i.e. Christians living in lack, Christians living in sickness etc. What is lacking is the spirit of God, which is the precious Holy Spirit in God’s house. The Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of Jesus, is the ONLY one in the name of Jesus that can break the yoke of the devil off your life as its says in the word of God ‘the anointing breaks the yoke’. If the Holy Spirit and the anointing is not present in the church service, then your life cannot move forward speedily! So let us allow the Holy Spirit to break Satan’s bondages over our lives so we can become the people of God we are intended to be!
